I have recently signed up with iiNet and as part of that had a Telstra phone line reconnected. The line speed is very low (2Mb) compared to what iiNet have said is theoretically possible (12Mb)... The line speed is very low (2Mb) compared to what iiNet have said is theoretically possible (12Mb) given the distance to the Pymble exchange. I would like someone to inspect the house wiring and setup, some things that may be affecting speed are: - When the Telstra engineer was reconnecting the line (it had been physically cut) I noticed a central ADSL splitter, the Telstra engineer did not wire this up. - There is a back-to-base alarm system installed in the house (hence the splitter I assume). - The house is reasonably old and has a lot of wired phone outlets (I did try moving the ADSL2+ modem to different ports with no change in speed).
