Replace fuse holder/block in fuse box and repair wiring

One of the circuits in our house stopped working, but didn't trip the circuit breaker. Inspection of the fuse box wiring shows one of the wires for that circuit is burnt and charred. This is from the back of the fuse block/holder down the wire for a few centimeters.
I would like the damaged wiring cut back, the fuse holder replaced and it rewired. Then check the circuit is operational. Should be quite a quick job.
