Embarrassingly, we neglected to check if the previous owner of my apartment, when running CAT5 between the lounge and main bedroom, ran said cable too close to the PSTN pairs where they enter the apartment. End result -- no PSTN connection any longer. Replacing fauted in-wall LAN cabling is one thingm but I'm definitely not certified to be mucking about with PSTN. I need someone who is to re -run and re-patch the phone point, amd since I'm at it, finish up the LAN cabling
Unfortunately - I need to get this repair done today if possible as I use the internet connection here to work remotely, and tethering from my cellphone won't be sustainable
