Track down a source of electricity usage

Damian requested 3 quotes from Electricians in Newtown

Each morning, between approximately 2am and 4am, something uses around 2KWs of electricity for 2 hours. One would think it's an off-peak hot water heater, however the house has a gas hot water system.

This has been happening every single day for a number of years and I'm finally getting around to asking for help to identify (and remove?) the source of this usage.

I've eliminated any kind of heating - there isn't any hot water, or heater that is turned on at that time (or even drains that much power). The fridge and dishwasher are not culprits (aside from not draining that much power, they don't come on at exactly the same time each night).
