  Address is 24 Hobsons Place, Adelaide (between Sturt and Wright St east of Whitmore Square) (can be seen on Google street view). Seeking a security fence within Council restrictions (max 2.1m from ground)across the verandah and side path. We require two gates, one at the front door and one at the side path.

The verandah is 30 cm high from footpath and somewhat less at the side path as there is a slight slope on the street and the side path is concreted. The fence can be fixed to the house and its wooden 9x9cm verandah posts but at the side path cannot be fixed to the adjoining townhouse wall and will require a steel post on the path at the boundary side and on the verandah at the house side, as it will need to be set back slightly from the verandah (which protrudes a little into the street). As part of this job, we want an existing steel gate half way down the path at the side of the house to be modified to include a fastenable dog door. (This is a very heavy gate made of steel sheeting perforated with a pattern of holes.)

The neighbour currently has a very low picket fence on the boundary house post on the verandah, which will probably need to be moved in along the boundary line a little to accommodate the new security fence, or maybe removed if she agrees.

Measurements of verandah - about 524 cm wide plus side path about 90cm. Length of fence required including two gates about 671cm. Verandah is 117cm deep, 135 cm from boundary post to step indent, step indent 90cm wide (15 cm high), 5cm from step to next verandah post, 260 cm from that verandah post to the one on the corner and 5 cm from that to the edge. Side path about 90 cm wide. Side gate will need to be set back 20 or 30 cm so that a post can be sunk into the side path where the townhouse wall ends, rather than the street and drain of the adjoining property.
