Install, sand, stain and polish floor boards thru house
Peter requested 3 quotes from Floor Sanders in Brunswick
1) Work to install (nail and glue) approximately 45m2 of Tasmanian Oak floor boards (133mm width and 19mm thick boards, that will be provided) over existing cork tile floor. These floor boards are to be installed in the open plan living/kitchen at back and in the corridor. Include work to re-use current skirting and trimming of doors.
2) Work to sand, stain and polish of 45m2 of Tasmanian oak and 16m2 or existing old pine boards to match.
The 16m2 is in four bedrooms off the corridor that are remaining as the original pine.
In addition:
Will need to work around existing furniture.
Carpet to be removed off existing pine floor boards (we can organise a skip).
Some preparation required to patch / secure a couple of areas as well as remove the pine floor in corridor, that can be quoted on separately.

We engaged Mark to install a new oak floor over the top of our old floors throughout the house, and then sand/polish them. We had very specific times we were trying to meet, getting the floor in before Christmas and then sanded/polished first week of the year. I am very happy to say he delivered to our schedule as promised. Mark started on the days we planned for and worked longer hours to get the job done in the time frame we requested. He was also happy to drop by for advice before and after the job and he knows a lot about flooring and finishes. The new floor is beautiful, he gave us confidence to use feature grade wood and it really does look fantastic in our older Victorian style house. The biggest improvement is the old big creaks the old floor made when walking on it are old gone and the finish he used was very good. The old saying is true, the floors really do make the house!
