Peter requested 3 quotes from Floorers in Anglesea
Hi,
I want to investigate laying a new, solid wooden floor over an existing hardwood floor at Anglesea. The house was built in 1976 on steel stilts with the entire underneath open.
While it was built-in 4 years ago, 30+ years of drying southerlies and the under-and-over rush of a superheated 1983 bush fire (!!) have unsurprisingly resulted in some drying and movement. The consequence has been shrinkage and considerable dirt incursion between floor boards.
The second issue is that, having built-in underneath, we're finding that we need noise insulation.
I'm reasonably "carpentry-aware" and the only real solution that I can see is to both issues is to lay a new hardwood floor over the old.
Expertise, ideas and quotes from them what know what they're doing would be most welcome!!
Regards,
Peter Doyle
