B&d roller door unit is not responding to the remotes

We have a b&d controll-a-door 4 attached to a panel door (double) the operator works from the door control attached to the wall but will not work from the remote unless the remote is less than 1m from the box. we have changed the batteries in both remotes and we have reprogrammed the remotes as per the instruction sheet. when speaking the the manufacturer we were advised that perhaps there may be some interference or an issue with the circuit board.
