Residential yard needs weed removal

I live on a residential block which mainly consists of lawn and trees but there are a lot of weeds. I am renting but just want to get rid of the weeds because I am sick of using the whipper snipper. I have cobbler's peg, bindies and a few others weeds that I don't recognise, they are through my lawn and along the edges. I am sure they just need spraying but I'm afraid of killing my other plants if I do it myself. I am not prepared to spend over $80.
