I need a leaking shower base repaired. I'm after a quality repair that at a minimum includes installing a new waterproof membrane and that will survive regular structural movement for many years. Qualified tradespeople only please. If you believe this job requires multiple trades for a quality result then please indicate that in your quote and let me know which part of the job you can do and which other part(s) require other trades. I'm sure that it is the shower base that is leaking, not the pipes. I have previously done a "quick fix" myself by re-grouting and using a grout sealing product. That worked for a few months but then failed due to structural movement. The pipes have also been pressure-tested. The shower measures approximately 80 x 90 cm and is currently tiled with fairly large tiles (perhaps 20cm square) with the drain in the centre. The shower is in a corner, so there are two tiled walls and the other two sides consist of a shower screen sitting on a tiled hob. There are no loose or missing tiles. In your quote you can assume that the floor and walls underneath the tiles are ok and won't need repair. I understand that if the floor or walls are water-damaged then there will be an additional cost and possibly another trade involved to repair that damage first. I believe that the walls behind the tiles are plasterboard and that the floor under the shower is particle board. The shower is on the top floor of a 15-year-old two-storey house of basic construction. In your quote please include your qualifications, insurance cover, what prior experience you have with this type of repair and a detailed description of how you intend to carry out the repair. In particular please indicate exactly what waterproofing system and products you will use and whether you recommend putting the waterproofing under or over the screed (sorry but I don't know which method was used for the existing base). I will be choosing a tradesperson or tradespeople primarily based on my confidence that you can do a quality repair. Price is secondary (but not completely irrelevant). Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to provide a quote. Cheers
