Jake requested 3 quotes from Handymen in New Farm
This request is in regards to obtaining a quote. i have an apartment built in the late 70’s in a large brick block in new farm, brisbane. i require a few small jobs on the interior of the apartment, to commence upon settlement on or after the 25th of january 2008.
-
- the apartment is located on the second floor and is accessible by stairs only. it is split-level, approximately 100m in total floor area, with the kitchen and living area upstairs, and the main entrance, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs.
-
- the kitchen and bathroom require no work at this stage.
-
- the jobs are as follows. could you please provide a break-down of the estimated costs of each individual job (as i may opt to undertake some of the jobs myself if my budget does not allow me to cover everything below):
-
- • rip up carpet in living room (upstairs), on the stairs, the 2 bedrooms and main entrance (downstairs)
- • polish the concrete floor in the living area and balcony (approximately 3.5m by 9.5m in area)
- • polish the stairs of the wooden staircase
- • fill cracks in wall and ceiling of living room and stairwell (fill cracks with a flexible plaster to allow for additional movement, as the plasterboard is adhered over bricks and is prone to further movement)
- • fill cracks and small dents in walls of bedrooms 1 and 2
- • paint walls and ceiling of stairwell and living room with white paint (upstairs)
- • remove polystyrene tiles from ceiling of bedrooms 1 & 2 and main entrance, and cover the cement ceiling with the most cost effective covering solution (perhaps rendering, or paint straight onto the concrete, or polish the raw concrete ceiling?)
- • paint the walls and doors of the main entrance and bedrooms 1 and 2 with white paint
- • installation of a built-in wardrobe of approximately 2.5-3m in length with mirrored sliding doors in bedroom 1
- • replacement of sliding built-in wardrobe doors in bedroom 2 with mirrored sliding doors
- • replace existing hanging lights with halogen downlights in living area (i will provide the light fittings). will require the additional holes to be cut in the ceiling as there are currently only 2 hanging lights in the living area and i would like 4-6 equally spaced halogen lights
- • replace entire door to bathroom
- • install door stops in all rooms
- • replace light switches in all rooms (i will provide the light switches)
- • replace door knobs (i will supply new door knobs)
- • installation of an electrical safety switch
- • installation of a split system air-conditioner in the living room (i will provide the air-conditioning unit)
