We had an issue last year where the unit was overheating because some of the ducting was crushed and required replacing. A short time after that, we turned the unit on and it would only blow cold air. Even when the power was switched off at the wall, the air continued to blow through the 2 vents in the house that actually worked. We had to then switch it off at the main power switch to stop the air flow.
