Brivis me-20exa central heater not working

I have a brivis me-20exa coupled with a networker controller.the unit is about 3 and half years old. upon testing the heating unit recently, the controller has come up with an error and fails to light the burner. when i spoke to a brivis person they asked what the error message in the actual unit was (by undoing the cover and reading the unit controller). the error message is "overtemp thm". i have has to isolate power the system (at power point local to the unit) as when the system is on standby, the fan runs continuously (and it is in an air purge cycle). the controller seems to have no effect in turning off the fan air purge.
