Closure to four of the seven central heating vents Daiken several yrs old

The original house was fitted out with central heating however now it has been subdivided into two residences. we would like the four vents, located at the rear of the house, to be closed. however we do require for these vents to be open at a point in the distant future.
baisically the simple closure of vents option available now does not adequetly prevent the gas heat from being pumped through that side of the house.
