Old Pyrox 505 gas heater - pilot light won't stay lit and fan switch broken

2 problems:
Pilot light won't stay lit after letting go of the ignition button - can light up the gas heating panels, but when let the ignition button go, the pilot light goes out and the rest of the panels go out as well. When lit, pilot light seems much smaller than it was when it used to work (last winter).
The fan/power switch broke off a while ago, we have been turning it on and off at the powerpoint instead. Would like to replace switch.
