PROTECT SERVICING
Charged me $75 for call out cost and told me the ignition did not work. Said that he needed to get parts and call Rinnai for more information. Said he called Rinnai head office in NZ. I said they are in Melbourne but he insisted that they are in NZ. Called me back later to say he cannot fix the ignition problem and gave me the Rinnai Melbourne number to get another repair man. Friendly and can tell stories for $75 but don\'t expect any repairs fixed. Not sure why all the good feedback here when I cannot even get my heater fixed and get charged for telling me a problem that I already know and advertised clearly in service central. Thank you for the response Shaun but the heater was in fact installed by a qualified plumber with a Compliance Certificate. It is a freestanding gas heater and the gas did come in if lighted manually. If it is not a thermocouple then it could be the ignition problem and I would think a gas heater is not as complicated as a car. Imagine taking your car to a mechanic and they tell you the problem but says they don't know how to fix it but charge you for telling you what you already know. I don't mind paying the fee if I choose not to get it fixed by Shaun but to be charged and told to get another repair man is ridiculous.
