I'm not winning the work! How do I win more jobs?

The job opportunities that Service Central sends you are just that - opportunities. We don't guarantee that you'll win the work, and on every job you will be competing with one or two other providers for the work. Some tips to understanding why you're not winning the work:

  • Do you have a good Online Business Profile? When you respond to a job, the customer is sent a link to your website on Service Central. If you have a great looking web profile with lots of pictures and information about your business then you will win more work.
  • Get Feedback. Customers look at feedback that has been submitted online about your business. The businesses with the best feedback often win more work.
  • Look at your quotes. You won't be competing against cowboys in the Service Central space, but it's possible that your quotes are coming in too high, or even too low.
  • Check how fast you're responding. The early bird definitely catches the worm, so the quicker you respond the better your chances.
  • Do you follow up on your quotes? Once they've gotten the quote, contact the customer to go through it. If they don't accept it, you can find out why on the same call, so it's worth doing even if you don't win the work in the end.
  • Are they 'Planning and budgeting' or 'Ready to hire'? You'll see the 'P' or 'R' in your job opportunity SMS, so you'll know up front. Remember that people that are 'Planning' are likely to return to you later even if they don't accept the quote immediately - especially if your quote is competitive and your service is good.

Remember that winning the work is always up to you - but if you have an idea of how Service Central can help you win it, let us know by chatting to your Account Manager or sending an email to enquiries@servicecentral.com.au.
