We live in a 1920s built apartment block with a fair amount of dampness and sinking foundations. there is a basement area that we would like to convert into a room and bathroom, a media room, small office and laundry. we would also like to renovate the existing bathroom and kitchen. i imagine the damp walls would need to be fixed or replaced. since the building is sinking, our floors are on a slope and i'd really like to fix that so things don't roll in one direction. having said that, the floors are the old floorboards and i don't think they were ever meant to be just floors as there are gaps and inconsistencies on the floor. all the doors and windows need replacing. they are the original doors and have been shaped to accommodate the sloping floor. i would like to build a new wardrobe in the study and make an entrance to it from the main bedroom, sealing the doorway from the hall. i'd also like to make the existing linen cupboard bigger and replace the doors. i would also like to move the front door so that we have a larger entry foyer and a smaller porch. i think that's about it but i'm sure more will come later. thank you!
