We had termite damage occur around 2 years ago below the laundry floor. Termites came in on one load bearing cross beam and up into 2-3 floor joists. Would like to get, at the minimum, damaged... Would like to get, at the minimum, damaged floor joist 'ends' cut away, and new strong joists bolted along and ensured stable for laundry above (will be putting large shelving etc in laundry soon and need to ensure 100% stable flooring with weight and vibration from washing machine). The required cut-away bit would be around 0-5m to 1m of the floor joist. Secondly, would like the main load bearing cross beam to be checked, this is the closest wood beam to the ground (only ~10cm clearance) in the whole house. If possible, would like to discuss changing this to a metal beam or similar 100% termite proof beam. Understand this wouldn't be as easy as rebolting the 3 floor joist parts, but would still like to discuss options. The 3 joists and cross beam are immediately next to the access hole on side of house (with 1m from access hole), easy to check and quote but I imagine doing the work will need to get around to the other side underneath. But for quoting, easy to see and get too.
