Hi there, I have a new-ish home (5-6 years old) which we purchased only a few years ago. The house has been built on a hill with a steep driveway sloping down to the road. The driveway is too steep to drive a regular car up into the garage. Need a 4WD which we don’t have. I am looking to have the garage slab cut and lowered (perhaps 6000mm?) and have the whole driveway rebuilt with a lower gradient. I have run this past concreters and people in the trade, but I only receive criticism about the poor workmanship of the builder and our decision to buy the house. This is not helpful information at all. Yes the slab is connected to the house, and my research so far indicates a structural engineer and underpinning will probably be required. I am looking for a builder who has the resources to get this job completed.
