Tiled shower cavity has puportedly leaked and destroyed floors floating wooden floors in the house. I also need a guarantee of no further leaks and a statement of certificate guaranteeing- because this is the second time within a short period of time that these floating floors have been destroyed and replaced by water damage- the first time supposedly from a burst pipe in a wall- at which time I was told there was no further leaks- only to have the floors destroyed by further water damage again (this time supposedly from a leaking shower) within a short period of time of the new tenant moving in. So in short it has been a bit of a nightmare. I have been given a quote of around $5k (to remove shower tiles, put in new cement sheet, waterproofing membranes/sealant etc. and to retile, put new cement in under the shower floor which has currently sunken down a bit) but I felt that it might be a bit overpriced and I don't have a lot of money to spend being a mother at home with a young baby meanwhile trying to sell this property- looking for licensed qualified trades people only. (Note this job is not including replacing the floating floors, I am looking for quotes for that separately). If anyone can help and has experience or specialisations in this area I would love to hear from you. I need it done ASAP as I am losing money as the tenant will not pay rent until it is fixed.
