Cut back the balcony floor tiles to allow for a water stop to be installed and water proofed onto the balcony concrete floor and over the balcony floor tiles. The water stop angle needs to be installed directly below the window / sliding door unit sill at a position to create a separation between the external balcony tiles and internal yellow tongue substrate and floor boards. The cutting back of the tiles, installation of the water stop and water proofing needs to be completely covered by the window / door unit sill so as not to be seen once the window / door unit is reinstalled. For further protection against water ingress, seal the junction between the balcony floor tiles and the external edge of the window / door unit sill with a suitable UV sealant. Remove the damaged floorboards adjacent to the window / door unit as far back as required or to where the substrate is dry. Repair the damaged substrate and allow the wet substrate dry. Relay the new flooring or try to salvage the old flooring and sand and polish the floor boards as required. Ensure the sanding and polishing matches the existing floor boards or sand and polish the total floor .
