I require some assistance from a mould expert in order to provide a report to my insurance company. My rental property had a severe water leak, which resulted in having all the flooring and floorboards being stripped back. There was also a ducted heater vent in the kitchen. When I open the oven I can notice that there is rust inside this vent, which to me is an indicator that water has entered this. What I am extremely concerned about, given my Science background, is if the water has turned into mould in the actual ductwork. Mould was present on the floorboards which have since been removed, hence I know that mould whether it is active or not, is prone to spreading to other parts in the affected room. I am concerned about whether the rangehood has also been affected.
