2 bedroom apartment with mezzanine level needs painting

Gareth and the team at Arc Property Solutions have been fantastic. From the time Gareth came to quote, the service we received was extremely professional. The advice he gave me on site was excellent, and it helped us make up our minds about other aspects of our mini reno. The quote was timely and competitive, laid out in an easy to read and compare manner. The paint work is of an excellent standard, and his team cleaned up when they left, leaving me nothing to do. I've already recommended Arc Property Solutions to people in our building who are tossing up with the idea of repainting, and will continue to in the future. We have a few more minor reno jobs to complete, and when they're done, Gareth has offered to come back to finish any little touch ups that might be required after the tradies have finished. They inspected, and I said I'd provide a floorplan to help them with their quote. My husband sent the floorplan about a week later (because he forgot). Prakesh was quick to follow up with me when we hadn't sent it through. In the meantime, I'd received 3 other quotes (2 from Service Central and 1 recommendation). We then decided to take up one of those quotes, which was based on advice received, and their availability to start quickly.

George was prompt to call me to arrange a time to inspect. He originally asked for 10.30am on Tuesday but I had another painter coming to quote between 10-10.30am so he thought it would be best to come at 11am. I called him at 10.50am to give him directions to get into the building, and from his comments, it sounded like he hadn't left Caulfield. He turned up at 11.35am without word of being late. Perhaps he confused the times? When he arrived, he spent a bit of time quoting. He seemed through, and had a few opinions on paint colour and what we should do. He was quite helpful. He said he'd have the quote to me by Friday 4th September. The quote was faxed through at 10.23am on Monday 7th. I called him to tell him that I'd decided to go with another Central Service quote, and I let him know that there wasn't that much of a price difference (at the time, I said about $150 but on closer inspection I see that his price was $550 higher as orignally I hadn't compared both prices including GST). I let him know that the company that I'd chosen to go with also did tiling and that they'd provided some advice on that. I suggested that perhaps they gave me a more competitive painting price, in hope that we'd send more work in their direction in the future. The ServiceCentral quote that I'm going with was laid out professionally, typed up with all inclusions itemised, and was received before the date promised. They aren't a handyman service. They are painters foremost, and are growing their business as a full decorating service. They only other service they supply is tiling. We're not going to do any tiling for a year or so, but if we do, I would call them for a quote because they have been very professional.
