We are contractually obliged to paint the interior walls of our premises in the Melbourne CBD at the end of our lease. The lease expires at the end of July, so we would like the painting work done during the first week of July.
To make sure the painter has a month's notice and can plan ahead, this deadline means we would like to get quotes this week, and then to make a commitment/decision early next week.
The premises consist of one open-plan area measuring 172 m2, plus toilets and kitchen. The walls are painted flat white. The area is now carpeted and has furniture - but we will move all the furniture away from the walls before the painting begins.
I have attached two photos of what the premises looked like shortly before we moved in (and before the carpets were paid).
The landlord needs to approve the work and the contractor selected before the work begins, so we will need to pass the written quote to the landlord before we commit to the job.
My business partner and I are pretty good at painting ourselves, so - if at all possible - we would prefer to save on costs by helping with the job (even if it's just lending a helping had with things like moving ladders, laying out sheets, carrying tins of paint from the van, etc). However, if this is not possible, it's not a deal killer.
A map of the location (just near the corner of Little Collins and Elizabeth Sts) is also attached. Parking is always a hassle around this area, so we will try to arrange parking in advance (if at all possible).
