Double-story terrace house in West Melbourne. 6 rooms plus hallway and stairs, Would like complete interior repaint. Light-coloured walls with trim painted in a contrasting colour. New colours approx same as existing colours downstaris but new colours lighter than existing colours upstairs. Polished floorboards in hallway and lounge room. Tile/carpet in other rooms. Carpet will be replaced after painting is completed.

Mixed view. They were about 50% more expensive than the next cheapest quote but we decided to go with them since they seemed professional and guaranteed their work for a few years. Project started well. Arrived on time; surface preparation was good; had 2-4 guys working every day; returned promptly to “touch-up” (before final payment). Didn’t use Dulux as requested (used Taubmans instead) and may not have applied 2-coats to all surfaces as promised (but I can’t swear to it). Job looked good when done. Project ended badly when the contractor appeared to become aggressive at not receiving final payment within 2 days of job completion despite me not having inspected the work. Seemed to lose further interest once final payment was made eg have still not received a receipt despite two requests and making final payment 3 weeks ago. No response at all to requests for receipt. Makes me wonder what the response would be if I needed to call on their guarantee and so makes me wonder if the 50% more was worth it.
