It doesn't need to be a super-thorough job as the house will probably be demolished in 5 years. It's just getting a very cheap tart-up so it can rented for a few more years. At the moment the paint's peeling so badly that it's impossible to paint over in its current state - although this probably makes it easier to remove! The house is single storey although the block is sloping so one side of the house is fairly high off the ground (eave height there would be roughly 4.5m).
