Arranged for quote at 5pm, he rang at 2.30pm same day and asked to come earlier. My wife and I were at work. Said don't come till 4.30pm, was here at 4.00pm when I returned home. He would have been in the house for no more than 5 minutes and only stuck his head into one of the rooms being proposed for painting. He wrote nothing down, did not examine the wall that needs plastering and gave us a quote off the top of his head. We got the impression he expected a yes or no on the spot. He was initially unwilling to put a quote in writing until we insisited. Quote was almost three times cheaper than our other quote from Service Central painter. This quote achieved nothing for us.

Arrived on time for appointment on 13 August and was very professional, spent about 25 minutes taking notes and our specifications. Did not receive quote by e-mail, so telephoned on 20 August. We think he did not get our e-mail address correct on visit to house. Said he would send again; still did not get quote, so sent an e-mail again to ask for it. Return message with quote said it was sent before (not received by us) and message seemed to reflect annoyance. Quote was almost triple the amount of a quote of other Service Central painter (who's quote seemed cheap). The quote was well out of our recommended price range of the posted job, so advised him we will not proceed.
