Advice on repairs to structural ceiling cracks

Large cracks have started to appear around the edges of the ceiling in our concrete slab floored house in williamstown. these cracks are mainly along the cornicing and around a circular skylight. we are need of some advice on how they can be repaired and what we can do to avoid them reoccuring. they seem to have only intensified since our ducted heating (in the ceiling) has been in use. we are can only speculate that this is the cause.
