Hot water tap in the shower

I had the washers changed recently by a plumber and now when I turn the cold tap on, water comes out but when I turn the hot tap on, no water comes out.
Hot water comes out of the basin taps in the bathroom and kitchen sinks, just not the shower. I assume its a value issue.
