cold water intake pipe to hot water service is leaking at the wall .. suspect that it's the join or bend just inside the wall as there is a very fine spray of water exiting where the pipe comes out of the wall and it does not sound as though it is a larger leak .. the ground does not appear too damp at the wall and no sign of water in the house .. turned off water supply at front of property and gas to hot water service.

I actually had a local plumber call me back at 8 sharp in the morning in response to a message left the night before and he was able to attend to this first thing, however the bloke from Rescue Plumbing called early and was very forthcoming and polite and had I not been impressed with the local plumber I would have employed his services. I only gave 4 stars as they didn't actually attend the job.
