Westinghouse fridge/freezer: freezer frosting up

The roof of the freezer keeps icing up near the door seal. The freezer is REALLY freezing everything - eg. icecream is rock hard
This in turn is leading to further icing up, which is then going to the fan and icing the fan up.
The fan then stops working and the fridge is no longer functional.
The fridge is 4 1/2 years old. I can not see that there is any damage to the seal.
There used to be a microwave on top of the fridge (not any more) and Ive taken the shelves out of the door incase that had something to do with it, but no.
