I have a study alcove in my 2br 2-storey modern townhouse, about 2x3.5m. I would like a wall and entry door to be constructed to convert it into a room, for added privacy and sound-proofing from the rest of the house. The room is on the upsairs level. If possible, I would also like a linen cupboard incorporated into the closed off section. Some minor electrical relocations will be necessary (light switch, cooler panel).

Curteous and helpful. Have engaged this contractor. Will update feedback after the work is completed. 13 May - I had to cancel the work due to changed circumstances within a week or so of paying 40% deposit (over $2k. I understand the regs say deposit can't exceed 10% of quote). Spoke to the builder, Craig Wellington, who agreed to refund the deposit minus a few hours to cover cost of performing the quote. That was about 4 weeks ago. Have contacted him on a number of occasions since and got excuses - he says he'll make the refund but hasn't. If I haven't received the deposit back by end of business today (as per his latest 'promise') I'll be taking this up with Consumer Affairs. Update (20/5/16) - SCAL has refunded most of my deposit, retaining 10% of the overal initial quote. I will now withdraw my complaint with Consumer Affairs. Thank you Craig.
