I want to convert a 1br unit into a 2br unit (change the large bathroom into a single sized bedroom and convert the laundry and WIR space to a wet room). The hot water heater would be in either the kitchen or the courtyard, and the laundry facilities hidden in the kitchen.
I would also like to renovate the kitchen, knock down the non solid walls and put in a straight line kitchen at the back of the unit with an island bench. Instead of having benches and cupboards on the left and right side of the kitchen, it would be on the back wall and the island bench a few metres in front.
Installing built ins and other clever storage space would be a bonus.
I don’t have plans but I have it in my head, ready to be drawn up.
And, if you happen to think anything would be extremely costly (eg. due to compliance issues), happy to listen to alternatives. But the conversion to 2br is the main thing. Happy to use a saniflo device if it keeps the plumbing cost down.
