I am renovating my kitchen and want to do the following alterations:
- Remove 300-400mm (2-3 bricks width) from a ground floor wall patch and smooth the opening. I have been told I won't need a steel lintel inserted if only taking this much width out. The opening is to door height.
- Close off a door opening and insert a transparent window to provide light thru to the hallway. A timber frame will be adequate an the new wall will need to be plastered to look like the surrounding walls. I will paint the area and no framing is required.
- Ceiling alterations. Currently the ceiling is suspended and I intend to raise it to the original height of 3.5 metres. The existing ceiling is to be removed, together with any bracing beams and the original ceiling is to be patched where required. This part is slightly unknown at the moment given the difficulties in inspecting the area (only visable thru talking out a light fitting and using a torch)
- Remove fridge inclosure made from plasterobard. Non structual.
- Demolish existing kitchen and remove tiles in kitchen. Depending on prices, I may attempt to do this myself. Just depends on if I can find someone to do all the work and they can work this into the package.
I can arrange for all rubbish to be removed from site and materials to be purchased and supplied.
My budget is depending on how much work is included in the quote.
