Removing bounce from floors of small house reblocked 8 years ago.

Michael requested 3 quotes from Restumpers in Oakleigh

  Hi

The front part of our Californian bungalow was reblocked 9 years ago.

7 years ago, an extension was added at the back. In the last 2 years, there has been creeking, bouncing and movement in parts of the floors in 4 rooms of the old front part. One opinion is that the land has moved due to the drought and that shims need to be added to concrete stumps and that two or three extra stumps need to be added to reduce the bounce. House is relatively low-lying and access is limited from below. (There are exposed floor boards on top, which we will re-polish soon, after this work has been done.)

We were also advised by a tradesperson that a permit may be required for this work.

Thanks

Michael
