Replace windows in house

My house has timber windows that the previous owner had painted over them and they now do not open as the paint has sealed them. Some parts of the window are rotten. I am looking to replace all the windows in the house. Either that or repair the existing ones.
My property is a two bedroom unit with 7 windows to replace, three of these windows are corner windows. I am hoping to replace these to metal window frames. Though I am open to suggestions.
